OVERLAYS AND COATINGS

Stellite:
Cobalt, Chrome and Tungsten Alloy
For high temperature steam services, oil and oil steam, high pressure steam up to 1,100 ºF (593ºC), fluid abrasives. It is used in seats for extreme services, it has a great hardness and abrasion resistance even when red heated. Its corrosion resistance is excellent in many services. It is applied with oxygen arc cutting or oxyacetylene and the seat surfaces finish is done by grinding. (Stellite is a Cabot Corporation registered trademark).

Monel:
Copper and Nickel Alloy for very corrosive services:

Hydrofluoric Acid and salt water. It is used when handling alkalis, salt water, food products and many airless acids. It is generally recommended to reduce, but not oxidize, solutions. (Monel is a Nickel International Co. Registered trademark)

Tungsten Carbide:
Cobalt and Tungsten Carbide Alloy:
Ideal abrasion and --------------- resistance. Good resistance to erosion. 930ºF maximum operating temperature. No thickness limit. Applied in valves, valve spheres, valve plugs.

Electroless Nickel:
It is a chemical coating for a fixed thickness nickel alloy on steel. It results in highly hard coated pieces, non porous surface and highly corrosion resistant.
- Hardness 45 – 48 RC.
- Wall thickness 75 Microns.
- Surface finish with roughness values less than one Micron.
- Adhesion on steel greater than 30 KPSI.

Epoxy Coating:
It is ment for valve internal and external surfaces weathered to river and sea water. It stands the corrosion produced by those agents.
- Coating thickness from 0.25 to 0.30 mm.
- Surfaces to be coated with Epoxy shall be prepared according to SSPC-SP5 specifications “Blast Cleaning to White Metal” or any other upon customers request.

Inconel:
Alloy 600
Nickel-Chrome-Iron Alloy

for applications where corrosion and heat resistance are required.
- This overlay also has excellent mechanical properties as well as the desirable combination between high stress and good machining (mechanization).
- High Nickel content gives the alloy corrosion resistance towards many organic components and can also virtually turn it immune (exent) to the attack of their ionic cloned substances.
- The Chrome provides resistance to sulfurated components and also to high temperature conditions or in corrosive solutions.
