| The design characteristics of this type of valve, makes it specially
appropriate for continuous use under severe service conditions. The outer part of the
valve is made up of a body and one body adapter, which together form an easily assembled
and maintained valve. The stem has a milled section that fits in an area of the sphere,
thus allowing an effective transmission of the torque, without the stem being directly
affected by the lateral push of the sphere. The sphere is mounted on trunnions in all
sizes and pressures in which this valve is manufactured. The sphere and the stem spin
freely with the Teflon impregnated metal (DU) bearings that do not require lubrication.
The friction coefficient is quite low, which allows easy opening and closing of the
valves. The seat rings are placed over springs that exert pressure on them, and push
against the sphere producing a hermetic seal even with low differential pressure. Both
rings have a primary metallic seal seat and a secondary one of resilient material. All
valves can be used in double block and bleed services, since its double seal allows
drainage and relief of the body cavity. These valves are available in nominal diameters,
from 2" to 36" in the ANSI Series 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500 and 2500 PSI. They
are manufactured flanged with RF and RTJ finish as well as the welding ends. Due to its
design, they weigh less as compared to other valves of its type and can also be
manufactured with the metal to metal seal. They can be operated with a lever, gear,
mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic actuators. The valve's guarantee is
estimated at 7000 opening and closing cycles, this value has been tested on prototype
valves in our simulation test bank.
